Samsung has officially rolled out the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat firmware update (build I9505XXUGNG8) for its Galaxy S4 LTE & Galaxy S4 LTE Black Edition (GT-I9505) smartphones in several European countries including Germany and Russia. Following its two-week beta update cycle, Apple has officially released the fourth iteration of iOS 8 Beta (build 12A4345d) to registered developers, packing loads of new bug-fixes and UI ameliorations for iCloud, Messages and Email. iOS 8 Beta 5 comes with a revamped text-prediction toggle & Wifi calling indicator. Moreover, this Beta brings faster access to Spotlight and moves Spirometry data types to HealthKit.

Sony recently seeded out a minor performance update (firmware version 12.1.A.1.207) for its KitKat-hungry Xperia SP LTE (C5303) owners on a few specific cellular networks in Europe. To everyone’s disappointment, this firmware still sticks to v4.3 Jelly Bean and only brings a couple of stability improvements and bug-fixes (SP owners should now get used to it).
