Samsung has finally started seeding out the Android 4.4.2 KitKat firmware update (build L520VPUBNE3) for Sprint’s Galaxy S4 Mini variant (SPH-L520). This update is being pushed out as an OTA (over-the-air) update in stages and it might take some time before it reaches your area.
Android 4.2.2 (L520VPUBNE3) – Changelog
As usual, this chocolaty update brings improved performance, UI enhancements and stability improvements. Here’s the official changelog that is provided with this update:
- Revamped Lockscreen with new media controls and a camera shortcut.
- Choice for custom SMS app.
- White status bar icons.
- Intuitive Location settings.
- Expanded Emoji icons
- Wireless printing support via Bluetooth and Wifi
- Modified popups
If you haven’t received the update yet and you’re dying to try it out, you can always try to force check the update by navigating through Menu > Settings > More > System Update. After the update has successfully completed, then your build name should be L520VPUBNE3 – which can be confirmed in the same Menu > Settings > More > About Device.
