Sprint has finally announced the new Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport Android smartphone as its own exclusive variant of the original Galaxy S5 – offering features (and design) pretty similar to AT&T’s Galaxy S5 Active that was introduced last month. This smartphone sports the same physical navigation keys on the front and a rugged body design with rubber outfit aimed at providing better grip and endurance.
Rest of the specifications sheet of Galaxy S5 Sport is exactly the same as the original Galaxy S5, including a 2.5 GHz quad-core processor (Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8974AB SoC), 5.1-inch full HD 1080p Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory and up to 128GB external microSD card support. It runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS out of the box.
It comes with a 16 MegaPixel AF rear camera with Zero Shutter lag feature that can capture full HD 1080p videos at 30fps framerate whereas the front camera is a 2 MegaPixel shooter. This phone is IP67-certified which means it is resistant to water and dust. Its connectivity features include Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, USB, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPRS, EDGE, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS etc. It is being offered with Sprint Spark™ that allows peak internet connectivity speeds of up to 60 Mbps.
