Asus has finally uploaded the chocolatey Android 4.4.2 KitKat firmware update (version 11.8.3.3) for its PadFone 2 on the official servers of Asus Download Site. This update isn’t available via OTA (in case you didn’t guess it already) and users will have to apply it manually by downloading the firmware package using links given below.
Download Android 4.4.2 Firmware for PadFone 2
Before you download this firmware, you’ll have to check your phone’s SKU (region code) first. This step is extremely important, otherwise you will not be able to proceed with the update. SKU can be found in Settings > About PadFone > Build Number [XX_PadFone-11.8.3.3] – XX is the SKU of your phone. After carefully verifying the SKU, download its corresponding firmware file through the following links.

Note: Â Backup all your apps, contacts, messages and other imporant data before initiating the upgrade process. This update will completely wipe out your phone’s memory. Therefore, all the apps that were exclusive to Starhub, Japan and China versions will have to be reinstalled after flashing this update.
