Nearly every non-Malaysian Honor 3C while installing B320 Emotion UI 3.0 update is encountering the copy_cust error, ending up with no access to Motion controls through Settings. This issue can easily be solved through a small patch that is installed using a custom recovery. A full step-by-step tutorial is provided below.
Fix EMUI 3.0 Motion Controls
1. Prerequisites
- SP Flash Tool along with functional Vcom and USB drivers (download here).
- Unlocked bootloader – here’s a simple guide on Carbon Tesla:Â Unlock Honor 3C (H30-U10) bootloader using SP Flash Tool.
- Windows 7 or below (we strongly discourage the use of Windows 8 or newer versions for this purpose).
- ….that’s all you’re gonna need.
2. Procedure
Step 1: Download TWRP 2.8.6.0 and extract its contents on your PC.
Step 2: Download the Motion patch here and copy it to the root directory of your phone’s SD Card.
Step 3: Start SP Flash Tool, click on “scatter loading” and open “MT6582_Android_scatter.txt” from the TWRP folder you just extracted.
Step 4: Tick “DA DL All With Check Sum” and then click the “Download” button.
Step 5: Now remove your phone’s battery and connect it to the computer over a USB connection.
Step 6: SP Flash Tool will start flashing as soon as it finds a device. It’ll pop a green circle upon completion.
Step 7: Now insert the battery and power on your phone while holding Volume Up + Power simultaneously until your screen flickers.
Step 8: Go to “Install”, locate the zipped patch and flash it. Wipe Cache/Dalvik Cache partitions too.
Step 9: Return to the main screen, tap “Reboot” and select System. Once your device boots up, you can verify the Motion & Gesture controls from the settings menu.
Step 10: In case you want your KitKat recovery back, download Recovery.img and flash it using the Flashify app (available on Play Store).
