Note: This firmware is not recommended for the EU version of Honor 3C (your current firmware format should be V100R001C900Bxxx). If your phone is running the Chinese firmware and is already rooted, then you can’t flash this update directly. First downgrade to B108 or B110 (Tutorial with SP Flash Tools) and flash B320 after that.
How to Install
Step 1. Make sure your Honor 3C is South Asian H30-U10 model running B110, B113, B115 (recommended) or B127 Jelly Bean firmware (EMUI 2.0) onboard and has not been unlocked or rooted. Your phone also needs to be running the stock Jelly Bean recovery.
Step 2. Download the zipped firmware from above and extract the Update.app file
Step 3. Connect your Honor 3C to the computer via a USB connection in mass storage mode. Make sure the SD Card is formatted in FAT32 filesystem.
Step 4. Copy “Update.app” to the “dload” folder of the external SD card. Also make a backup of your current data including contacts, messages, apps and settings.
Step 5. Disconnect the USB cable and turn off your phone.
Step 6. Reboot into SD upgrade mode by holding Vol Up + Vol Down + Power buttons simultaneously for a few seconds.
Step 7. It’ll take a few seconds for the update to finish. After that your phone will reboot into the new OS.
Cool, eh?
Important: This firmware also won’t work if you’ve unlocked your bootloader. To check your bootloader status, reboot into Fastboot mode by holding Vol Down while inserting the USB cable, and use this command in Fastboot terminal on the computer: fastboot oem get-bootinfo (it should return with permission error).
You can relock your bootloader by re-flashing your current firmware or previous firmware (B108) through SP Flash Tool (Use this tutorial).
Tackling the Issues
1. Cust Error: We’ve found that some non-Malaysian sets are encountering “copy_cust” error during the upgrade. If that happens please make sure that you are already using a Malaysian firmware (like B115) and the bootloader is locked before flashing the new firmware. There are two possibilities:
- If your phone isn’t turning on and keeps vibrating like crazy, downgrade to your previous firmware using SP Flash Tool (use the same B108 tutorial), then flash B115 and then install this firmware.
- If the phone starts normally after the Cust error, please use this guide to gain access to Motion Controls: Fix Honor 3C Motion Controls on EMUI 3.0 Firmware [Cust_Error]
2. Capacitive Buttons Issue: In some cases the capacitive touch buttons might stop working after the update. You can fix this by installing the B266 kernel by flashing KernelSwapper available here (4.88 MB).
