How to Update
Step 1:Â Before you proceed you have to confirm that the device you’re holding is P8 Lite ALE-L04Â and its running KitKat firmware (V100R001C00B124) with stock recovery.
Step 2: Connect your P8 Lite to your PC in MTP or mass storage mode. Perform a full backup using either the inbuilt app or Huawei’s HiSuite utility.
Step 3: Download the preparatory package and B309 firmware from aforementioned links and extract them. You’ll get ‘dload’ folders holding Update.app from both.
Step 4: Copy the dload folder of preparatory package to your P8 Lite’s external SD card (top directory level).
Step 5: Disconnect the USB cable and turn your device off. Now reboot while holding Vol up + Vol down + Power. Release the power button as soon as the phone vibrates. It’ll automatically enter the recovery mode, install the preparatory package and reboot afterwards.
Step 6: When your phone starts up hook it up with your PC again and, this time, copy the ‘dload’ folder of B309 to the SD card (delete the previous one). Then simply reboot while holding Volume keys & Power to install it.
Tada! When your phone starts up go to Settings > About Phone and check the build number. Restore your data and have fun.
Stay tuned!
