Upgrading Instructions
1. TWRP Method
- For this procedure, you’ll need a custom recovery like TWRP and an unlocked bootloader.
- Download the three update files (update.zip, public data and cust package) for your model and region and copy them to your phone’s internal memory (without extracting).
- Turn your phone off and reboot into TWRP mode by holding Vol up + Power keys simultaneously for a few seconds.
- After taking a full backup, go to Install and flash the update.zip package.
- After that, install the cust and public data files.
- Reboot into the system normally upon completion.
2. Firmware Finder Method
This method doesn’t require any custom recovery or root privileges.
Step 1: Go to the Play Store and download the Firmware Finder app by Team MT.
Step 2:Â Open Firmware Finder, go to its settings and enable “Use proxy for install” –Â allow the app to download the addon when prompted.
Step 3:Â Install the proxy addon when it is completely download.
Step 4: Now, go to Settings → Wifi → Modify network (tap & hold current network) → Show Advanced options → Manual.
Step 5: Enter the following details for Proxy:
Proxy hostname:Â localhost
Proxy port:Â 8080.
Tap Save (or Connect) to exit.
Step 6: Return to the Firmware Finder app, find the full version (preferably MF-PV) of B381 firmware matching your phone’s model number and send it to the firmware updater.
Step 7: Go to Settings → Updater. When an update is available, return to the Wifi settings and disable the proxy (Wifi → Modify network → Proxy → None → Save).
Step 8: Finally, go back to the Updater and follow the onscreen instructions to download and install the update.
That’s all folks!
