Installation Instructions
1. Prerequisites
- Huawei P10 Updater tool – download here
- Full backup of all partitions taken through TWRP
- USB cable and ADB/Fastboot drivers on PC
- Download the update files matching your region and then rename them as follows:
» update.zip → [Don’t rename this file]
» update_data_full_public.zip → update_data_public.zip
» update_full_VTR-L29_hw_meafnaf.zip → update_all_hw.zip
2. Installation
Step 1. Connect your phone to the computer via USB and create a new folder HWOTA in the external SD card.
Step 2. After downloading & renaming the update files, transfer them to the HWOTA folder you created in the previous step.
Step 3. Download the Huawei P10 updater tool provided in the prerequisites and extract the HWOTA folder to your desktop.
Step 4. Unplug the USB cable and power off your device. After that, reboot into fastboot mode by reinserting the USB cable while holding the Volume down key.
Step 5. Open the HWOTA folder you extracted earlier on your computer and execute the update.bat file as administrator (Windows only).
Step 6. The updater script will open up and ask you to reboot your phone into fastboot mode. As you’ve already done that, simply press the Enter key to continue.
Step 7. The script will then replace your phone’s recovery and ask you to reboot into TWRP mode.
Disconnect the USB cable, power the device off by holding the Power key and then hold Volume up + Power for a few seconds to enter TWRP mode.
Step 8. Once you’re in TWRP, plug in the USB cable again and press the Enter key twice on your computer.
Step 9. In update source selection, type 1 and press Enter.
Step 10. In the next step (update type selection), again type 1Â and hit the Enter key twice.
Your phone will now automatically reboot into its recovery mode and start installing the update
