Huawei is rolling out a new firmware update, tagged with version number 9.1.0.355, to P20 Lite handsets in Europe. This update brings several new features including Smart Charge mode, Huawei Assistant and July’s security patches. Full technical details of this firmware are provided below.

How to Update
This update is currently being rolled out in stages to a fixed percentage of devices at a time and it may take 2-3 weeks before it reaches your phone. You can try manually checking for updates using one of the following tools.
1. Support App
- Open Support (HiCare) app.
- Go to Quick Service.
- Tap More.
- Press ‘Update’.
- Tap ‘Download & Install’.
2. Update Utility
- Open the Settings app.
- Go to System.
- Tap System Update.
- Press Check for Updates.
- Press ‘Download & Install’.
Official Changelog
This update adds the Smart Charge mode and the Smart Battery Capacity feature.
1. Battery
- Adds the Smart Charge mode, reducing battery aging by adapting to your charging routine through AI learning and preventing the battery from being continuously charged when full. (This feature is enabled by default.)
2. Huawei Assistant
- Adds HUAWEI Assistant to the home screen, providing smart reminders, personalized news, and other content relevant to you.
3. Security
- Integrates Android security patches released in July 2020 for improved system security.
